Bristol legend Big Jeff thanks well wishers in first message since house fire

Bristol legend Big Jeff has shared his first message since he was seriously injured in a house fire at his home in Totterdown last month. Jeff, 39, is still in hospital but he regained consciousness last weekend.

This week Jeff’s family and his art manager, Lee Dodds, shared an update on his condition and said Jeff is likely to remain in hospital for ‘many months’. The well-known music fan who attends most gigs in the city was involved in an accidental fire whilst cooking at home on June 6.

The statement posted online on Wednesday (June 29) said: "We are pleased to be able to share with you that Jeff has made some good progress with his recovery over the weekend. Jeff is now off the ventilator and is conscious."
