Bristol Indian restaurant Spice Inn goes into voluntary liquidation

An Indian restaurant in Bristol has gone into voluntary liquidation.

Spice Inn, on Providence Lane in Long Ashton, has appointed insolvency practitioners McAlister & Co to wind up the company.

The announcement of the liquidation was made on public records site London Gazette.

It is not yet known why the restaurant closed or if any jobs have been lost.

The founders opened Bath’s first Indian restaurant 50 years ago, according to the company’s website.

The Long Ashton branch opened eight years ago and was a “family friendly restaurant” with outdoor views.

Spice Inn’s website describes the venue as serving “authentic indian cuisine” without artificial colourings and flavourings. The restaurant also had a regular Banquet Night every Wednesday.

Ahmed Ripon is named as the director of the restaurant on Companies House. He was appointed in January this year.

The liquidators were appointed on August 1, 2019 by members and creditors.

For more information about the restaurant's closure, contact Nicola Lewis of McAlister & Co Insolvency Practitioners at nicola@mcalisterco.co.uk.

The liquidators and owners have been approached for comment.
