Bristol Harbour Festival 2019 full weather forecast

Downpours have battered the city today (July 19), leaving most fearful of a wet weekend ahead.

Bad weather would be particularly disappointing tomorrow because one of the city's busiest and fun festivals gets underway.

But there's good news for revellers heading to Bristol Harbour Festival, experts are predicting the weekend will be warm and filled with glorious sunshine.

Saturday morning is expected to be cloudy but by the time the first acts hits Harbour Fest's stages at around 11am things should begin to brighten up.

Wall to wall sunshine is predicted from 3pm until 9pm with temperatures peaking at 21 degrees.

Sunday will have less sun, but the mercury will climb to a humid 23C.

Experts say there's little chance of any rain falling throughout the event, which runs until July 21.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Sunny spells and scattered showers during Saturday morning, although the showers should ease to give a largely dry afternoon, with warm sunny spells for most. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

"Dry with warm sunny spells on Sunday.

"Dry with sunny spells on Monday, with a risk of thunderstorms later on Tuesday. "Becoming increasingly very warm and humid."
