Bristol Half Marathon set to be hot: Hour-by-hour Met Office weather forecast

Thousands of Bristolians may be feeling a bit nervous today, ahead of the Simplyhealth Great Bristol Half Marathon.

The race will take place on Sunday, September 15, with thousands due to take on the 13.1-mile route around Bristol.

Roads will be closed so spectators can cheer on their loved-ones, but they may want to seek out a shady place to watch the half marathon.

The Met Office is forecasting highs of 20C during the day, with much of the bright sunshine in the morning when the race is taking place.

The hour-by-hour forecast:

7-8am: 13-14C. Bright sunshine with little chance of rain.

8-9am: 14-15C. Bright sunshine with little chance of rain.

9-10am: 15-16C. Bright sunshine with little chance of rain.

10-11am: 16-17C. Bright sunshine with little chance of rain. Some cloud cover may start to form.

11am-12pm: 17-18C. More cloud cover will form.

12-1pm: 18C. Clouds will start to form.

1-2pm: 19C. Cloudy.

3-4pm: 19C. Cloudy.

4-5pm: 19C. Cloudy.

5-6pm: 19C. Cloudy.

7-8pm: 18C. Cloudy.

8-9pm: 17C. Cloudy.
