Bristol go-kart centre releases statement on air ambulance incident

Avonmouth's go-kart centre has issued a statement following a medical incident which saw an air ambulance called.

South Western Ambulance Service was called to the TeamSport track on Avonmouth Way at 12.48pm on Saturday, November 30.

An air ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended, before a woman was rushed to hospital by the air ambulance.

A TeamSport spokeswoman has now confirmed a female driver was taken ill while on the circuit.

She said: "At this time we are unsure if the situation is as a result of a pre-existing medical condition.

"Paramedics were called and the local air ambulance attended. The ambulance service commended the actions taken by employees.

"The customer was taken to a local hospital to undergo further treatment. Our thoughts are with the customer and their family at this time."

The chain's Avonmouth centre contains an 800m multi-level indoor track.
