A fish and chip shop in Bristol has been named among the winners of the 2021 Good Food Awards.
Formed in 2002, the Good Food Awards recognises culinary excellence across the UK, divided into categories including restaurants, fish and chip shops and gastropubs.
A spokesperson for the awards said they are "founded upon independence and integrity and every award issued is based on a strict policy scorecard".
Businesses that enter the awards are then visited by judges from the Good Food Awards, who "handpick selected eating establishments to join our prestigious awards programme".

The five categories are:
- Fine Dining, Restaurants and Products
- Cafés, Bistros, Sandwich Shops, Coffee Houses and Tea Rooms
- Takeaways
- Fish and Chip Shops
- Gastropubs
- Hotels
Winners are given a blue ribbon they can proudly display in their window to give diners the assurance they are eating somewhere highly rated.
Bristol winner
Despite the vast number of fantastic chippies in Bristol, only one has been awarded the prestigious ribbon in the "Fish and Chip Shops" category.
Farrows Fish and Chips in Totterdown is viewed by many as one of the best chippies in Bristol, loved for its "exceptional food" and friendly service.

It also has a number of gluten free options available which also makes it popular with people who have an intolenace to gluten.
In total there were 106 winners from 10,500 fish and chip shops across the UK.
The Blue Fish Co in Worle, a 30-minute drive from Bristol, was also named among the top chippies.
