Bristol drummer to perform at Wembley alongside The Who and Kaiser Chiefs

A Bristol drummer is performing at Wembley Stadium this Saturday (July 6) alongside The Who and Kaiser Chiefs.

Ryan Aston will perform the drums with Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May to 80,000 people.

Ryan has been playing professionally, touring and recording for 25 years and has worked with musicians including James Arthur, Ronnie Wood, Bob Geldof, Jeff Beck, The Lighthouse Family and Mercury Prize winner Badly Drawn Boy.

He said: “Playing at Wembley Stadium is every musician’s dream. To play at such a legendary venue is a real honour.

“I have been lucky enough to play at some incredible venues, all over the world, but I am really looking forward to this one – it feels extra special.”

Imelda May is an Irish singer-songwriter (Ryan Aston)

As well as being a professional musician, Ryan is the director of Music HQ, a live music provider based on Temple Way in Bristol city centre.

The business provides live bands for weddings and corporate events across Wales and the South West.

He added: “We’re really proud to be creating jobs for local musicians and using our first-hand experience to develop their talent. We are passionate about providing our clients with the very best party bands for their events.”

Ryan will also be performing live on BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Friday (July 5) with The Lighthouse Family.
