Bristol creative agency changes name to Shaped By

A Bristol creative agency which provides marketing services for global tech companies has rebranded.

Workbrands, based in the city’s Paintworks creative quarter located off the Bath Road, has changed its name to Shaped By.

The business founded by Nick Farrar and Steve Goss in 2005 has grown from a bedroom startup to an agency employing 15 people.

It has gone on to work with US firms including multinational software firm Autodesk and cloud computing companies Rubrik and Nutanix over recent years.

Mr Farrar said that the time was right to adopt an “ambitious and playful” new brand.

Mr Farrar said: “The marketing landscape has changed dramatically over the years. Now the need for effective communication through great design has never been more important."

Explaining the concept behind the agency’s new name, Mr Farrar continued: “The Shaped By brand name and core concept reflects the fact that, as humans we are all shaped by our life experiences, our environment and the people around us - we are a constant work in progress.

“Similarly in a work context, the Shaped By team shapes the outcome of a project through our collaboration with clients.”

To mark the rebrand the company has launched a new website and social media channels.

Mr Farrar originally trained in furniture design, before going on to head-up the company alongside co-director Goss, business director Dave Corlett, creative director Tom Ovens and client services director Wei Kee.

Mr Farrar said: “These days everyone is battling for attention – brands are using an increasingly sophisticated armoury of marketing tools to push their message in front of people, which is great, but it’s only half the challenge,”

“Without real consideration to what you’re putting in front of your audience, you risk missing the opportunity to create those positive reactions which are vital for each stage of a business relationship.”
