Bristol Craft Beer Festival 2020 organisers confirm event WILL go ahead this year

Organisers of a festival in Bristol have confirmed their event will go ahead this year.

Bristol Craft Beer Festival will likely be the first official, ticketed event to take place in the city post-lockdown, when it runs between September 11-12.

Held in the Lloyds Amphitheatre, the festival will showcase a huge array of the world's finest beers, while also featuring street food vendors and live music.

To comply with Government guidelines there will be a number of measures in place at the two-day event to ensure the safety of attendees.

Greg Wells, founder of Bristol Craft Beer Festival, said: "We're working with Bristol City Council and the licensing bodies to make sure we’re operating safely and within guidelines as they’re released by the Government.

"We wanted to do our best to host an awesome event this year as we think we all need a little something to look forward to.

"The last few months have been tough for us all, but as we’re starting to see green shoots of recovery, particularly in the hospitality industry, it’s really important to support those local businesses which need our help, and in some way get Bristol back doing what it does best.

"Bristol is a tremendous beer and food city, we have amazing producers right on our doorstep - the 2020 Bristol Craft Beer Festival will be in honour of them. While the festival obviously won’t be exactly the same as previous years, we want to safely raise a glass in support of this awesome city."

Safety procedures at the event will include PPE for staff, queuing and directional signage for visitors, app-based registration to comply with track and trace, rigorous cleaning and sanitising throughout, increased entry and exit points and no cash payments.

As ever it will be a celebration of brewing culture in Bristol and beyond, featuring a huge range of the world’s finest beers from local breweries like Wiper & True and Arbor Ales, alongside national and international big hitters like Northern Monk from Leeds and To Øl from Denmark.

Local food outlets on offer will include Two Belly, Asado and Eatchu, with live music from the finest local DJs across two days.

One ticket price allows visitors access to all of beers on offer, enabling people explore, discover and deepen their knowledge of quality beer.

"Bristol Craft Beer Festival has always been more than just a beer festival - and this year that is especially true," added Greg.

"While travel and logistics might sadly restrict a few breweries attending in person, there will still be hundreds of amazing beers from the best breweries both local and international."
