Bristol Covid update as three new deaths and over 900 further cases reported in 24 hours

There have been 909 further cases of coronavirus confirmed across the Bristol region in the last 24 hours to Friday (October 29) - as well as three further deaths.

According to the latest government data, two deaths were recorded in North Somerset, with one confirmed in the City of Bristol.

The City of Bristol recorded the biggest rise in new Covid-19 cases with 287 confirmed since yesterday.

Nationally, the Government said a further 186 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 140,392.

As of 9am on Friday, there had been a further 43,467 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK, the Government said.

A total of 49,882,904 first doses of Covid-19 vaccine had been delivered in the UK by October 28, figures show.

Some 45,651,222 second doses have been delivered.

A combined total of 7,293,638 booster and third doses have also been delivered.

The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new positive test results in brackets:

  • City of Bristol: 68,261 (+287)
  • Bath and North East Somerset: 23,893 (+211)
  • North Somerset: 24,665 (+180)
  • South Gloucestershire: 36,624 (+231)

The number of deaths recorded in each area since the beginning of the pandemic is as follows:

  • Bath and North East Somerset: 243 (-)
  • City of Bristol: 557 (+1)
  • North Somerset: 348 (+2)
  • South Gloucestershire: 384 (-)
