Bristol coronavirus latest as city records 286 new cases

There have been another 286 coronavirus cases across Bristol in the last 24 hours.

The latest Public Health England figures show there have now been 44.741 positive coronavirus tests across Bristol since the coronavirus pandemic was officially declared last March.

Yesterday's coronavirus figures across England were delayed, but BristolLive can now reveal there were another 339 tests declared.

The city recorded another 3,982 cases in the seven days up to July 20 meaning the rolling infection rate now stands at 859.3 cases per 100,000 people.

That makes Bristol the 12th worst infection rate across the United Kingdom, and significantly higher than the English average of 532.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Covid-19 deaths

Across the United Kingdom there have been another 28 people who have died within 28 days of receiving a positive coronavirus test result.

This brings the UK-wide death toll to 129,158.

There have also been 153,070 people who have had covid-19 recorded on their birth certificate.

There have been no new coronavirus deaths in Bristol leaving the number at 492.

How many people have been vaccinated?

A total of 46,563,452 people have now had their first coronavirus vaccine across the United Kingdom with 37,160,659 people double-jabbed.

Across Bristol there have been 315,996 first doses and 216,943 second doses given out.
