Bristol coronavirus hospital deaths reach 100

The coronavirus death toll in Bristol hospitals has risen to 100, according to the latest NHS England figures.

The update says there have been 50 deaths with Covid-19 recorded by North Bristol NHS Trust and 50 recorded by University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.

The number of people who have died at Bath's Royal United Hospital is now recorded at 43, while deaths recorded by Weston Area Health NHS Trust stand at 3.

In recent days we have shared tributes to a number people who have died with coronavirus in the Bristol area - Southmead Hospital healthcare assistant Maureen Ellington, Weston General Hospital worker Amarante Dias, former Bristol University lecturer John Adler and First Bus driver Hussen Mudei.

We also shared the news Bristol City legend Norman Hunter died with the virus aged 76.

The number of deaths recorded in the South West now stands at 608.

The Covid-19 death toll across the country has climbed to 14,576.
