The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bristol continues to rise as the government looks set to relax lockdown rules, latest figures show.
Bristol now has 657 confirmed coronavirus cases following a rise of six people in one day.
As of May 8 at 5.20pm, Public Health England's figures show 371 positive tests have been confirmed in South Gloucestershire, a rise of 5 in 24 hours.
Meanwhile, North Somerset recorded 287 cases following a spike of 11.
However, in Bath and North East Somerset no new cases were confirmed, meaning the district's total remains at 220.
On Thursday, nine more coronavirus deaths were recorded in Bristol hospitals in one day.
The figures showed 176 people have now lost their lives after contracting Covid-19 and being admitted to either University Hospitals Bristol or North Bristol Trust.
In total, Southmead Hospital reported 97 deaths while Bristol Royal Infirmary recorded 79.
Nationally, the number of people who have died of coronavirus has now reached 31,241- the highest figure in Europe.
The Prime Minister is due to make a national address on Sunday (May 10), when it's expected lockdown rules will be eased from the following day.
Downing Street has now confirmed Boris Johnson's speech will take place at 7pm, on the BBC and Sky News.
With temperatures set to soar this Bank Holiday weekend, police have urged the public to comply with the current lockdown restrictions.
