Bristol coronavirus cases continue to creep up

The number of coronavirus cases in the Bristol area have crept up again, new figures have shown.

Official statistics published this afternoon (Monday, May 11) reveal there have now been 672 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bristol, up from 670 on the previous 24 hour period.

In South Gloucestershire the cases have increased from 384 to 386.

North Somerset has seen the largest rise over the past 24 hours and has exceeded 300 cases for the first time, with the cases now standing at 304 compared to 299 on Sunday.

In Bath and North East Somerset the number of cases has increased by one from 222 to 223.

Across the UK, there have been an additional 3,877 cases reported today alone, and a further 210 deaths.

In total, the number of UK cases is now 223,060, and 32,065 people have died.

The Prime Minister will shortly be holding the daily press conference, where more details of the new coronavirus lockdown measures should be confirmed.
