Bristol coronavirus area-by-area breakdown with new figures

There have been no new coronavirus-related deaths recorded in the Bristol region over the past 24 hours to Wednesday (April 28).

New data also reveals a further 21 infections were recorded across all four local authorities that make up the West of England - a fall from yesterday's 39.

Bristol reported the highest increase with 11, two cases were recorded in North Somerset and one in Bath and North East Somerset. There were seven new cases in South Gloucestershire.

Here is the latest daily breakdown of cases and deaths for each area in the region:

Cases

The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with positive test results from the last 24 hours in brackets.

  • Bristol - 30,818 (11 new cases)
  • North Somerset - 10,083 (two new cases)
  • Bath and North East Somerset - 8,236 (one new case)

  • South Gloucestershire - 15,218 (seven new cases)

Deaths

The number of deaths in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new deaths in brackets.

  • Bristol - 469 (-)
  • North Somerset - 313 (-)
  • South Gloucestershire - 354 (-)
  • Bath and North East Somerset - 218 (-)
  • The Government said a further 29 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,480.

    Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

    The Government also said that, as of 9am on Wednesday, there had been a further 2,166 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

    It brings the total to 4,411,797.
