A Bristol company that makes nut and seed snacks has landed a lucrative deal with Sainsbury's after trialling the product in stores.
Stokes Croft-based Boundless, which featured on BBC One’s Inside the Supermarket , has been stocked in 70 branches since June but has now signed a permanent contract and will be in 580 stores from January.
The company is just one of three new food brands chosen by Sainsbury's to be stocked permanently.
The deal follows a trial Sainsbury’s set up to identify future food trends in response to customers shifting away from big brands to smaller, innovative products.
Founder Cathy Moseley, who launched the business two years ago, says winning a place on the trial last summer was a “major coup” for the company.

She said: “We were over the moon to land shelf-space in 70 Sainsbury’s stores in June and July and the sales were so successful that we have now been awarded a permanent listing in 580 stores from January 1.”
She added: “Our tasty activated snacks, which come in handy grab and go 30g packs, give customers their daily recommended portion of nuts and seeds.
“These are easy to digest and release more healthy enzymes and nutrients than normal nuts and seeds making them ideal for busy people seeking a healthy balanced diet.”
The news comes as the company picked up a top accolade at Caterer’s Product Enterprise Awards.
Boundless’s Rosemary & Cayenne activated nuts and seeds was named the best snacking product of 2019 after beating off more than 5,000 other products.
