Bristol Comedy Garden to take place earlier than usual because of Euro 2020

There aren't many comedy events in the South West bigger than Bristol Comedy Garden.

Every year the festival brings a host of huge names to a pop-up marquee in Queen Square, with last year's line-up including the likes of Sean Lock, Stewart Lee, Sara Pascoe and Nish Kumar.

The live comedy, which takes place across two sessions each day, is accompanied by a range of street food and numerous bars.

While the festival has traditionally taken place in early July, organisers have announced this year's event will run one month earlier, between June 3 and 7.

Festival producer Cass Randolph told Bristol Live the event has been moved so it did not clash with Euro 2020, which runs between June 12 and July 12.

Although the lineup has not been unveiled yet, organisers have said it will be an "astoundingly good edition" in a statement shared on Bristol Comedy Garden's Facebook page.

It goes on to say: "We couldn't be happier to be bringing world class comedy to Queen Square for the ninth time

"Line up announced very soon..."
