Bristol cocktail bar forced to shut for deep clean after reported break-in

A Bristol cocktail bar has been forced to close for a deep clean after a reported break-in.

The Dirty Bird in Clifton says it took the decision to close for three days after the premises was broken into last night (Saturday, October 17).

Posting on Instagram, the bar said it could not know if the person who allegedly entered the building was Covid-19 positive. Therefore the owners have decided to temporarily close.

The Instagram post reads: "Sadly due to the pandemic we do not know if he is positive, he isn’t wearing a mask, obviously didn’t track and trace and we don’t know what they touched.

"We take your safety seriously and on the advice of our solicitors we have to treat the situation as him being positive.

"Therefore we will be closed for 3 days while we deep clean and throw any perishables away."

The Instagram post adds: "We will contact those who have booked refund or reschedule.

"Sorry guys this is the last thing we’d want to do!"
