A Bristol-based cleaning business has been bought out of administration, saving 70 jobs across the city. Proficient Cleaning has been bought by commercial cleaning services provider Ecoserv Group.
The sale of the business and some of its assets to London-registered Ecoserv was secured within 48 hours of the appointment of FRP Advisory as administrators on March 22.. The deal will see all 70 of Proficient Cleaning's employees transferred to the company's new owner.
Jean-Henri Beukes, chief executive of Ecoserv Fm Group, added: “Proficient Cleaning has longstanding experience and an established presence within the Bristol area, so this acquisition will strengthen our existing operation within the South West of England. We look forward to our new colleagues joining the business and working closely with the company’s customers to best meet their cleaning needs.”
Simon Carvill-Biggs, partner at FRP and joint administrator of Proficient Cleaning, said: “My primary focus on appointment was to try and secure the ongoing employment for the 70 staff and I am very pleased that we achieved that outcome, ensuring also that continuity of service remained for the clients. We wish the employees and business all the very best for the future. "
Proficient Cleaning was established in 1994 and provided cleaning services and solutions for commercial clients across Bristol. Clients included offices, schools, health centres, and showrooms.
Last week BusinessLive reported that according new research from the insolvency and restructuring trade body R3, the region reached its highest level for 11 months. R3's analysis of data provided by Creditsafe shows there were 151 cases of insolvency-related activity in the South West in February.
