Jonny Smith is on trial at Hibernian.
Edinburgh Live report that the 21-year-old lined up for Hibs' development squad in a friendly against Newcastle United.
Despite being used as a winger in the Robins' youth set up, he played in centre-midfield and netted for Hibs before being replaced in the second half.
Smith spent last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers from the Robins, making 35 appearances and scoring four goals as the Birkenhead club won promotion to League One.
The Liverpool-born player began his career at Wrexham, spending time in their youth set-up between 2007 and 2016.
After one appearance for the North Wales side, he moved to the Robins for an undisclosed compensation package.
He has also spent time out on loan at AFC Fylde and Cheltenham Town.
Whilst he has not travelled out to America with the Robins, he did feature against Hallen in City's first pre-season game.
