Bristol City winger attracting interest from Lazio, Celtic and Villarreal

Bristol City winger Niclas Eliasson is attracting interest from the likes of Lazio, Celtic and Villarreal, according to reports in Italy.

Corriere Dello Sport report that the Swedish winger's performances in the Championship this season have turned heads all across Europe.

Premier League side Burnley have already been linked with a move for the winger, who has 10 assists and three goals in the Championship this season, and have now been joined by three more clubs.

According to the reports, Lazio would settle for a move in the summer window if he isn't available before January 31st, with Celtic and Villarreal both also monitoring his situation.

Eliasson has recently has his contract extended at Bristol City, with the club triggering a clause for an additional year in the contract.

He now has 18 months left on the deal and has reiterated his happiness to be at Ashton Gate.

Speaking after the win over Barnsley last weekend, Eliasson said: "All I can say is that I’m really happy at Bristol City. I’ve said to my agent and to the club that it’s easier if they do the talking between them and I can keep my focus on the pitch.

"With so many games coming up, I don’t want to be thinking about contracts, so I'll leave it to them, and they’ll find the best solution for everyone. I’m just thinking about doing everything on the pitch."

The winger has been one of the standout performers for City this season and has now had a run of games playing on the left wing after struggling for starts earlier in the season.

Lazionews.eu report that Bristol City value the winger at around £8 million.

He joined the Robins in 2017 from IFK Norrkoping in his native Sweden and in 80 appearances on BS3 has scored seven goals and provided 18 assists.
