'Bristol City was in the blood' - Subs Bench speak to former Robins defender Chris Honor

The latest edition of Subs Bench has landed.

The popular Made In Bristol show has arrived on Bristol Live with Richard Latham and Nigel Turner interviewing a host of former Bristol Rovers and Bristol City players from across the generations.

This week, the duo interview former Robins defender Chris Honor who has a fascinating story to tell in the game that took him from Bristol to Scotland and into European football.

Having made his debut as a teenager for his hometown club and the team he supported as a boy, Honor earned a reputation as an immensely promising defender under Terry Cooper during the revival of the club in the late 80s.

Honor reveals life at BS3 during that period, how he fell out of favour under Joe Jordan and what Brian Clough said to him after the Robins came so close to reaching the League Cup final in 1989.

The 50-year-old, who now appears on BBC Radio Bristol, details how his move to Scottish football turned sour and why the 'Bosman Ruling' could very nearly had been named the 'Honor Ruling'.
