Bristol City up their interest in Brentford goalkeeper with £4m fee touted - report

Bristol City are upping their interest in Brentford goalkeeper Daniel Bentley according to reports.

The Sun's Alan Nixon shared the news that the Robins' interest in Bentley was heating up in a deal that would get the ball rolling on other transfers across the Championship.

City are keen on a goalkeeper following the departures of Stefan Marinovic and Frank Fielding at the end of the season.

Currently they have Niki Maenpaa and Max O'Leary to fill the position but are after a third senior keeper.

They were previously linked with Bentley last month, with a £4m fee touted for the Griffin Park stopper.

Bentley has made more than 260 appearances in the EFL since making his debut for Southend United in 2011, and joined Brentford in July 2016.

The 25-year-old has made 123 appearances for the Bees, establishing himself as the first-choice keeper.

Early in the window, City were linked with Derby's Kelle Roos, but he signed a new deal at Pride Park.
