Bristol City tie up another deal as young striker commits to the Robins

Bristol City have followed up the news that forward Antoine Semenyo has signed a new deal at the club by confirming that fellow attacking talent Saikou Janneh has also penned a new long-term contract.

The Robins have confirmed that Janneh has agreed to terms on a four year deal, with the option of an added 12 months.

The news follows on from Semenyo's announcement earlier on Tuesday and both players will now join first-team training when all the players return to the Failand training ground to begin pre-season training later this week.

Janneh will fly away on the club's US trip and look to impress head coach Lee Johnson ahead of the new season.

We understand that there are league clubs interested in loaning Janneh next campaign if Bristol City decide to let him leave temporarily for more first-team football.

And head coach Lee Johnson told the official club website of his delight at the news.

"We are delighted with how Saikou has developed since being with us and that’s credit to him and the staff who have worked so closely with him," said Johnson.

"Torquay was a great experience for him and we are looking forward to him continuing that steady progression. He is a young man with all the right attributes to succeed in football and we are delighted to have re-signed him on a long-term contract."

"I am so happy to sign," said Janneh, in the article too. "I’ve just tried to work hard and it’s been great being around the first team and at Torquay.

"Everyone at the Academy has done a great job and they made me feel really welcome and comfortable. Brian Tinnion always told me to work hard, be hungry and have a good attitude.

"I’m looking forward to having a good pre-season and then next season whether I’m lucky enough to be in the first team or going out on loan again."
