Bristol City star backs club on Eddie Nketiah with Nottingham Forest in talks with Arsenal striker

Jay Dasilva says Eddie Nketiah would be a good fit at Bristol City.

City are keen to take Nketiah on loan until the end of the season after Arsenal recalled him from his stint at Leeds United due to a lack of game time.

Robins left-back Dasilva has played with Nketiah in England's youth set-up and also played against the striker in youth football when the duo were at Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.

Dasilva says he is well aware of Nketiah's ability and backed him to be a good fit should he sign for the Robins.

He said: "I've played with him and against him in the youth ages and England set-up.

"He's a good player, I like him, he's a friend of mine.

"If he did come here, I'm sure it would be a good addition to the side."

Another City star, Kasey Palmer, is also good friends with Nketiah, and it is believed the striker has asked Palmer about life at Ashton Gate.

Whilst having two friends in the City dressing room could impact Nketiah's decision, Dasilva says he steers clear of transfer talk and has not spoken to the Arsenal starlet about a potential move.

He said: "Not about the transfer, no, I try and stay away from all that.

"I haven't spoken to him about it."

Yet the Robins face plenty of competition for the striker's signature, with Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday all keen.

Sky Sports report that Forest are currently in talks with Nketiah, but this is not thought to be a new development.
