Bristol City's next manager LIVE: Latest with Ryan Lowe and Chris Hughton among contenders

Welcome to Monday's Bristol City live blog as the Robins' search for their new manager continues.

A miserable run of form since the resumption saw head coach Lee Johnson lose his job on Saturday, with a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City the final straw for owner Steve Lansdown and CEO Mark Ashton – who wielded the axe shortly after full time.

City have plunged out of play-off contention with four consecutive defeats, and it seems attention will turn to next season as the club's bosses vie to identify Johnson's successor.

Ryan Lowe is the bookies' favourite for the job, while Chris Hughton and Mick McCarthy have also been mooted as options for City.

Lansdown and co. will hope their next appointment will smash through the glass ceiling which seemed to halt the progress of Lee Johnson, who despite his best efforts was unable to make City a play-off team.

We will also have all the build up to Wednesday's visit of Hull City.

Stay tuned to the live blog below for updates throughout the day
