Bristol City player ratings vs Coventry City: Semenyo a real handful as Cam Pring impresses

Max O'Leary - 7

Called into action early on by denying Martyn Waghorn with his legs. Unfortunate with the opener after initially making a brilliant save. Safe hands coming out for crosses. Rarely tested in the second half but did everything expected of him.

Zak Vyner - 7

Barely put a foot wrong except picking up a booking in the first half. Made a brilliant tackle to deny Gyokeres in the second half. Won some crucial headers deep inside his own area under pressure. Close to receiving an eight.

Rob Atkinson - 6

Looked a threat from City's set-pieces. Had a difficult evening up against the quick and powerful Viktor Gyokeres. Was beaten by his pace in the second half but was covered superbly by Vyner. Couple of shaky moments.

Kal Naismith - 7

Gustavo Hamer got around his outside for the opening goal. Saw the good and bad of Naismith with a few misplaced passes but some darting runs forward to get City on the front foot. Too many corners failed to beat the first man. Coventry pressured him on the ball but sound defensively.

Cam Pring - 8

Involved in the build-up to City's first when his cut back into the area landed at the feet of Semenyo. Had an effort cleared off the line from a corner. Defended superbly, including a last-ditch tackle on Gyokeres.

Matty James - 7

Gave Kasey Palmer too much space in the opening 15 minutes but soon settled and kept him close under his watchful eye. Limited his space in the second half, forcing Mark Robins into a change. Another disciplined performance.

Alex Scott - 6

Didn't get forward as much as he would have liked but was effective defensively, making a smart block against Palmer on the edge of the area. Used his skill to get out of a tight spot, ending with Jonathan Panzo being booked. Intriguing battle up against Hamer.

George Tanner - 7

Lacked support down the right when looking for an outlet down the flank. A nervy start but soon grew into the contest. Was rarely beaten down his side and sat back in the second half.

Andi Weimann - 7

Another energetic showing and played the ball into Semenyo's feet in the build-up to the opener. Too many wasteful crosses in decent positions in the first half. Looked certain to score at the back post but ended up being booked for handball. Played a key role defensively in a flat three including a block in stoppage time.

Antoine Semenyo - 8

Started and finished the move to bring City level in the first half. Superb work down the right before burying it into the corner for his first goal since September. A real handful at times and had the confidence to run at the backline. Almost assisted Weimann with a brilliant turn of pace. Tired in the second half but plenty of positive signs.

Nahki Wells (off 79, Conway) - 7

Continuously pressured and hassled the Coventry backline which led to numerous errors. Held the ball up effectively at times to bring others into play but couldn't generate an opportunity in front of goal. Quieter in the second half.
