Bristol City on track to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah - reports

Bristol City are "at the head of the queue" to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on loan according to the latest reports.

The Sun report Lee Johnson's Robins are favourites to land England Under-20 ace Nketiah.

Arsenal are looking to loan out their talented young forward who has struggled for game time at the Premier League club with the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Iwobi ahead of him, believing a full season in the Championship would better develop their player.

According to the report several clubs, including some Premier League outfits, have asked about the 20-year-old.

But Bristol City have developed a strong reputation for successfully advancing players on loan in recent years, with Chelsea and England forward Tammy Abraham the stand out example, and are set to add another exciting attacking asset to their squad ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Nketiah has played just 17 senior games for Arsenal but has already scored in the Premier League and played two seasons in Europe in the Europa League.

The striker made his Premier League debut in March 2017/18 at just 18 years old, featuring off the bench in the Gunners' 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

He scored his first Premier League goal on the final day of last season in a 3-1 victory at Burnley.
