Bristol City not the only Bristol club looking for a new coach as next David Moyes wanted

Bristol City aren't alone when it comes to teams based in this part of the West Country hoping to make a new coaching appointment.

Almondsbury Ladies are looking for an assistant coach to help out team manager Garry Ford.

The north Bristol-based side, under the shadow of the M4/M5 intersection, play in the South West Northern Women's Division - one above the Bristol Rovers equivalent new side play in, facing the likes of Chippenham Town Ladies, Portishead Ladies and Swindon Town's Development Squad.

And any newcomer would follow in some pretty famous footsteps: those of the current West Ham United boss David Moyes.

Moyes played in the Bristol City defence from 1985 to 1987, winning the Freight Rover Trophy at Wembley in 1986, and began his coaching career at the time by joining in at the nearby Brunel Glazing Sunday team, with Ford one of their players at the time.

"If you set out the right environment and everyone realises that there are no egos and everybody is the same then you've got more of a chance of making a better place for people to relate to each other.

"There is an opening for a coach to come in and lend a hand," he adds.

Moyes used to go up to Filton on a Monday night to start his fledgling coaching career and work the Brunel side hard back a fair few years ago at the end of the '80s, up and down Filton Hill and along the A38 past Rolls Royce. Not something that Garry does, though he has been inspired to use Moyes' "10 Chesties (tuck jumps)" as a punishment to motivate his players in training.

Moyes was just getting into coaching then, and that could be you if you take up Ford's offer to become his no.2.

An appointment could be made soon at The Field (see here for more contact information) and it could be you. As for City...
