Bristol City midfielder Josh Brownhill emerges as target for Brighton, Sheffield United, Leeds and Derby

It has emerged Bristol City star Josh Brownhill is attracting interest from a host of clubs - including in the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder reportedly has suitors in the top flight as well as the second tier.

Brighton, newly-promoted Sheffield United and the Robins' Championship rivals Leeds and Derby have all expressed an interest in the 23-year-old, according to Sky Sports News' Transfer Centre.

City's No8 contributed a useful six goals and four assists and was a consistent performer as the Robins finished the season just shy of the play-off places.

The former Preston and Barnsley man enjoyed an impressive season in the middle of the park, with his combative dribbling, passing ability and long-range shooting catching the eye.

Those attributes and his a consistency mean few Robins fans will be surprised by the news that Premier League sides and Championship rivals are interested.

Brighton are looking to bolster their midfield under new manager Graham Potter as they look to avoid another relegation scrap, while Sheffield United are building a squad that is Premier League ready.

He could have more suitors in the top flight, with the Seagulls and the Blades said to be 'leading the interest' from the division.

Meanwhile, Leeds and Derby are looking for reinforcements as they plan for another assault on the top of the Championship having both agonisingly missed out in the play-offs last season.

It seems Leeds may have turned their attention from one Robins player to another, .

However, Brownhill's excellent campaign means he we will not come cheap and City are under no pressure to sell with the midfielder under contract until 2021.
