Bristol City make third signing of the week as Brentford goalkeeper Daniel Bentley joins

Bristol City have made it a hat-trick of signings this week with the addition of Brentford's Daniel Bentley for an undisclosed fee.

The goalkeeper follows Jay Dasilva and Sammie Szmodics through the door at Ashton Gate to conclude a busy week of business for the Robins.

The 25-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the club. He had one year left to run on his deal with the Bees.

At this stage it is unclear whether he will be first choice or fight for the No1 jersey with Niki Maenpaa.

Bentley modelled the club's jazzy new goalkeeper kit as he was unveiled on Friday evening.

The Robins had been keen to bring in a goalkeeper following the departures of Stefan Marinovic and Frank Fielding at the end of the season.

Bentley made 123 appearances for the Bees, establishing himself as the first-choice keeper. He played 33 times last season, keeping seven clean sheets.

He has made more than 260 appearances in the EFL since making his debut for Southend United in 2011, and joined Brentford in July 2016.

City were previously linked with Bentley last month, with a £4m fee touted for the Griffin Park stopper.
