Bristol City linked with move for Fiorentina and former Monaco winger Christian Koffi

Bristol City have been linked with a move for Fiorentina and former Monaco winger Christian Koffi.

The 19-year-old has spent the last two years playing in the Italian youth league since signing from boyhood club Monaco and has caught the eye of the Robins.

The French winger is also reportedly a target for Fulham after scoring five goals in 18 youth league appearances this season, with the two Championship clubs monitoring Koffi's situation.

French website Mercato report that both clubs have been watching Koffi and that he will likely leave Fiorentina this summer, despite being under contract until 2023.

With the winger now turning 20, he is unable in the youth league and the report suggests that the Italian side will look to offload him.

Bristol City are lacking in depth out wide, with the likes of Marley Watkins and Hakeeb Adelakun's future in doubt after failing to force their way into the City side on a regular basis, and Koffi could be the man to add depth to the right-wing.

If the report is accurate, the Robins will have an ace up their sleeve if they look to tempt him to Ashton Gate in the form of Han-Noah Massengo.

The City midfielder signed for the club from Monaco last summer and spent the 2017/18 season at the French side with Koffi. Massengo has spoken frequently about how much he has enjoyed living in the city and getting regular minutes on the pitch at Ashton Gate and could persuade Koffi to pick City over the Cottagers.

Bristol City have told agents and intermediaries that they want to sign full-backs and a holding midfielder this summer, but could look to also bolster their attacking options if Koffi is available for the right price.

Young players who command cheap fees will likely be popular with clubs this summer in a transfer window of cost cutting. Bristol City will have to sell before they can buy and if Fiorentina are wiling to let Koffi go for a small fee, he could be a genuine options for the Robins.
