Bristol City legend makes Ebony Salmon prediction as former Man United striker makes big impact

Siobhan Chamberlain, the former Bristol City and England goalkeeper, has special words of praise for in-form striker Ebony Salmon.

The 20-year-old forward is enjoying a fine spell in front of goal, scoring twice against Brighton in the Barclays FA Women's Super League last month to add to the brace she bagged against Aston Villa to send her side into the Continental Cup semi-final.

And she has definitely caught the eye of the former Lioness.

"She's been great," Chamberlain told Bristol Live. "Ebony is absolutely rapid, and she just needed to add that bit of consistency, that bit of composure when she's through on goal.

"You know what she's going to give you, and she's done that at Bristol City, and I think she's going to be key in whether they can survive, whether they can stay in the league, but she's definitely got a lot of talent about her."

Salmon signed for Bristol City in the summer of 2019, following a loan spell at Sheffield United from parent club Manchester United - for whom she did not make a single senior appearance.

City are currently bottom of the WSL table with a goal difference of minus 40 - but the cup run has provided a springboard for the league, with the Vixens grabbing their first win of the season in January.
