Bristol City legend and his son are raising money to help the NHS at a tough moment

Bristol City legend Brian Tinnion is looking to help out the NHS during these dark Coronavirus-affected times.

A signed Tinnion shirt is being auctioned off in support of NHS workers who are working tirelessly during the COVID-19 outbreak, with the hero of that special Anfield night looking raise funds.

Though it was actually the idea of Brian's son Jay to get involved and try to raise some cash, with the pair looking to raise more than £1,000 for the NHS (a sum that the pair have now surpassed).

Tinnion told the official club website:

"During this tough time Jay has been desperate to help the NHS. He’s offered my shirt I gave to him for auction to donate...all proceeds will be donated to the NHS, bless him."

Donations are currently being taken through the Twitter social media platform (look for @tinnion_brian) where Brian - now the club's Loans Manager - can be contacted.

The highest bidder will receive the shirt, with all proceeds and donations going to the NHS.

Fellow Robins midfielder Scott Murray was involved in the early bidding for the item, but keen Robins supporters have since overtaken the club's kitman.

Tinnion made 458 league appearances for Bristol City, scoring 36 goals.
