Bristol City interested in teenage starlet wanted by Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Wolves - report

Bristol City are said to be one of a number of clubs interested in Hartlepool United teenager Harrison Webster.

Team Talk report that the Robins have shown an interest in the 17-year-old, who is also wanted by the likes of Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves took the left-back on trial last season and now seem keen to follow up their interest, although he has been training with Leeds recently.

Webster is out of contract at Hartlepool and has previously been linked with the likes of West Ham United and Leicester City.

The talented youngster is yet to make a senior appearance for the Monkey Hangers, but has looked promising in friendly matches and youth team games.

Hartlepool are set to hold talks with the player, but it seems likely he will move on to a Championship or Premier League side.

Whilst he would not be expected to be included in any club's first-team plans at this stage, he is the sort of signing Bristol City have looked to make in the past few years.

The Robins have been open to taking talented young players from elsewhere and developing them into potential first-team members.

Youngsters such as Freddie Hinds, Tyreeq Bakinson, Cameron Pring, Rory Holden and Robbie Cundy all came through at other clubs before being snapped up by the Robins.

More recently, City signed Alex Scott from Guernsey in December, and took West Ham youngster Kai Corbett on trial as they look to add to their academy ranks.

With Webster out of contract, City would only have to pay compensation for the player, meaning he would not be an expensive youngster to sign, either.
