Bristol City fans concerned Kalas' display against England could alert Celtic & Rangers to Chelsea loanee

Many Bristol City fans had split allegiances when watching England's opening match of the 2020 European Championship qualifying campaign, as a familiar face lined up for the opposition.

Robins loanee Tomas Kalas, who has caught the eye for the Championship promotion-chasers this season during his spell away from Chelsea, took a spot in the heart of defence - and fans were fearful that a positive display would catch the eye of other clubs.

With Bristol City likely hoping to sign Kalas on a permanent basis this summer, a solid display from the defender could have alerted the likes of Celtic and Rangers, both of whom have been attributed with interest in his services.

It did not quite pan out that way in the first half though, as Raheem Sterling tucked home from close range to open the scoring before Kalas was involved in a double-challenge on the Manchester City man that provided the Three Lions with a penalty - which was smashed home by captain Harry Kane.

The whole situation got many fans on social media talking and we have gathered some of what they have been saying below.
