Bristol City fans bid fond farewell to Bailey Wright as defender completes Sunderland loan move

Sunderland have confirmed the loan signing of Australian international, Bailey Wright from Bristol City until the end of the season.

The Robins captain was surplus to requirements after the club invested heavily on defensive players in the summer window.

The 27-year old's contract is due to expire at the end of the current season and a loan move for him at this stage of the season seems to be the smart thing to do.

Bristol City fans were quick to thank Wright for his service at the club and praised Sunderland for the good business they have done.

Exiled Robin: Very solid signing for you – will do a great job.

Tom Hague: One of the nicest blokes to play for the club and by all accounts a top captain. Hope he does well.

Sage: Best of luck Bailey.

CRT: Good luck to him.

Kory: Quality signing for Sunderland.

Ben Williams-Butt: Hell of a signing there. Would have improved a lot of bottom half Championship defences, Sunderland have got themselves a good one there.

Red City: Gunna miss you Bailey Wright, a true professional.

Craig Feltham: Great bloke and will be very solid.
