Bristol City defender Taylor Moore helps local restaurant with half price offer during Middlesbrough win

Bristol's family-run Italian restaurant Vincenzo's has thanked Bristol City defender Taylor Moore after the player helped them with a half price offer during the win over Middlesbrough yesterday.

Moore tweeted before the game to let fans know that he would be covering half the price of 10 takeaway orders during the game, mentioning his love for the restaurant which has been a Park Street stalwart for 50 years and who have recently reopened following the coronavirus lockdown.

Run by the Ricci family, the defender has built up a good relationship with the family since joining in 2016 and extended the offer after City's 3-1 win over Boro at the Riverside.

In the tweet, Moore said: "For those who know me well, you will know how much I love Vincenzo's restaurant and pizzeria on Park Street in Bristol.

"They are huge Bristol City fans and have looked after me since I joined the club almost four years ago. They are now reopening and I'm trying to help as much as I can after what has been a difficult period for everyone.

"Bristol City kick-off at 3pm today and for the first 10 people that ring up, order and collect before the game, there will be 50 per cent off your order on me!"

Following the win, Moore extended the offer after the game and Joe, one of the owners of the restaurant, he said Moore is a 'brilliant' guy and that they can't thank him enough for all his help.

Joe told Bristol Live : "Straight after the game, we got five extra takeaways from him which was brilliant. We thank him so much. I phoned him last night and thanked him. He said not a problem.

"Even when we had the problem with Bristol City Council ( the restaurant almost got turned into student flats ) he did a big thing with a signed t-shirt for us.

"We're really close with him. He's a lovely guy, down to earth and when we came back from our lockdown he knew how hard it was and he offered to help us out."

The offer of help has been a long time in the making. Moore has been close with the family since moving to Bristol City from RC Lens in France in 2016.

Joe said: "When he signed for Bristol City, he came in after a couple of weeks with all his family. My son Enzo is a big City fan and recognised him and we went over and chatted, got on with him really well that night.

"In the last four years we've been getting closer and closer. We're really close with his family and he's a brilliant guy.

"We do get a lot of Bristol City fans come in and ask if Taylor comes in. Last season we had a family come in who wanted to meet Taylor and Callum [O'Dowda]. We rang Taylor up and he and Callum came down after 15 minutes, took pictures with the customers and it was brilliant. Josh Brownhill too when he was down here.

"We've had a lot of the players comes in. Fammy, Taylor has brought him up. He brings them as often as he can. When he's gone out on loan we've always rang him up after the game and asked him how he's got on. He's a brilliant guy, Can't fault him at all.

"He's looked after us. We couldn't thank him enough for what he offered. He said he really wants to help. It was a really nice gesture."
