Bristol City defender clarifies his future at Ashton Gate after 'fake post' on social media

Bristol City defender Eros Pisano has clarified his future by issuing a post on Twitter.

The right-back who has made 11 starts this league campaign is out of contract in the summer and a fake post purported to have come from Instagram indicated that Pisano would not be staying on in BS3.

In it, the 32-year-old was said to have thanked the fans for his time at Ashton Gate, indicating that he would be on the move at the end of the current season.

That social media post has been denied, however, with a signed-off statement - see the tweet embedded above - from the Italian instead explaining:

'Yesterday a fake post was put out about my stay here;

'It is not the time to talk about the future... We still have at least two battles to win for the club. For you the fans and for us players.'

Pisano has been a fans favourite and not so long ago scored the winning goal as the Robins bagged the three points in a victory on the road at Blackburn Rovers.

The post went on to explain that his future will be decided at the end of the season and that Pisano has 'fallen in love with these colours' of Bristol City and he hopes to stay longer at the club.

We spoke with Pisano ourselves in December at the end of last year in the run-up to City playing Birmingham and the experienced defender explained then how he is enjoying his time in the South West.

"My family enjoy it here and it's a beautiful city," said Pisano in the pre-match press conference.

"In the summer I finish my contract but I don't want to think about that at the moment.

"I hope to stay a bit longer because I enjoy it here. We will talk in June and we will see what happens," he explained.
