Bristol City confirm MansionBet as shirt sponsor and principal partner for 2021/22 season

Bristol City Football Club has confirmed that online sports betting operator MansionBet will continue as the club’s principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2021/22 season.

MansionBet, part of the Gibraltar-based online casino and gaming provider the Mansion Group, first sponsored the championship team last season.

The brand’s logo will be emblazoned upon the Robins’ home and away shirts during the next campaign.

The announcement was made just ahead of the side’s unveiling of its new black away strip on Thursday, June 17.

In a statement announcing the extension of the partnership, Bristol City said it was “dedicated to promoting responsible gambling” and that the MansionBet brand would not appear on youth team kits.

Last year a House of Lords Select Committee, set up to analyse the impact of the gambling industry, recommended that betting operators should no longer be allowed to advertise on the shirts of football teams competing in leagues below the Premier League from 2023.

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) is currently reviewing the recommendation, one of 66 made in the committee’s report.

MansionBet has previously sponsored Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, AFC Bournemouth and Millwall, and has been the official betting partners of Manchester City and Newcastle United.

Bristol Sport Group’s head of commercial Justine Kebby said: “We are delighted to confirm our partnership with MansionBet for a second season.

“We’re excited with their continued support, working with our Bristol City fan base and the Bristol Sport group.

“With nearly two decades of industry experience and a long tradition of sport sponsorship, MansionBet bring a huge amount of expertise and creativity to this partnership.”

Dana Bocker, head of integrated marketing at Mansion, said: “It’s been an eventful first season with Bristol City and I’m delighted that we are continuing our partnership with the club and support of the English Championship.

“Our first localised Bristol campaign last year, featuring stand out creative, resulted in strong brand awareness and positive fan engagement. We're looking forward to getting back into the stadium for the 2021/22 season and connecting with fans on a more personal level, showing our support for both the club and its loyal supporters through a number of exciting initiatives.”

Bristol Sport, based in City’s Ashton Gate Stadium, is part of a group of sports companies owned by Stephen Lansdown, the co-founder of financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown.

It oversees the business, commercial and operational interests of its affiliated clubs which include Bristol City and Bristol City Women's Football, as well as Bristol Bears Rugby Club, Bristol Bears Women and Bristol Flyers Basketball.
