Bristol City chief continues on EFL Board as Derby County counterpart is voted on

Bristol City chief executive Mark Ashton will continue on the EFL Board for next season, it has been confirmed.

Ashton was voted into the position last season, being given the role for three years to replace Jez Moxey following Burton Albion's relegation to League One.

It has now been confirmed that the Robins CEO will continue in the role for the forthcoming campaign as one of three Championship club representatives.

Club representation on the EFL Board comprises of three Championship directors, two League One directors and one from League Two, with each being selected by the 24 clubs in their respective divisions.

Robins chief Ashton and Reading counterpart Nigel Howe have now been joined by Derby County chief executive Stephen Pearce, whose place on the board was confirmed yesterday.

Pearce replaces outgoing Championship representative Cliff Crown, chairman of Brentford.

Moxey rejoins the board as a League One representative along with Fleetwood Town chief executive Steven Curwood.

The League Two representative will be Carlisle United director of external affairs John Nixon, who was re-elected to serve on the board.
