Roadworks on Old Market Street are causing traffic mayhem this evening across the city centre.
One lane on Old Market roundabout has been closed and tailbacks are stretching along Temple Gate and Old Market Street.
Another lane closure on Temple Gate near Bath Road is also causing massive delays.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "Very slow traffic on A4 Temple Gate outbound between the Temple Circus Gyratory System and Bath Bridge Roundabout. Congestion to Old Market Roundabout. In the roadworks area.
"Queueing traffic on Temple Way / Temple Gate / Redcliffe Way at the roadworks around Temple Circus Gyratory System. Travel time is six minutes."
The council's Travelwest tweeted: "Lane 3 closure on Temple Gate Soutbound between Station Approach and Bath Bridge. Expect delays."

The work in Old Market is scheduled to finish on Wednesday, April 17.
