Bristol City captain provides insight into how tough it is to play Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United

Bristol City captain Josh Brownhill has namechecked Leeds United as the toughest opponents he’s faced in the Championship this season.

The Robins are one place behind Leeds in the table, level on points but behind on goal difference.

They’ve only lost one game all season, going unbeaten in ten games since Leeds recorded a comprehensive 3-1 victory at Ashton Gate on the opening weekend of the season.

The 23-year-old was speaking on BBC Radio Bristol’s Sounds Of The City programme, and was asked about his toughest opponents this season, choosing United’s midfield three day - Kalvin Phillips, Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich - for their energy and pressing ability.

“The Leeds midfield three because the way they press is literally man for man,” said Brownhill.

“Wherever you go it’s literally you against them.”
