Bristol City announce second pre-season friendly with visit to League One club

Bristol City have announced their second pre-season friendly ahead of next season.

Having already agreed to send a City XI to Weston-super-Mare on August 3, the Robins have announced a second away game.

They are set to visit AFC Wimbledon on July 9, ahead of a pre-season tour to Florida.

The Tuesday night game will be held at the Dons' Kingsmeadow ground and will be the second ever meeting between the two clubs - City won the first meeting 2-1 thanks to a brace from Aaron Wilbraham in 2014.

Wimbledon are currently in League One, having completed an impressive turnaround to save themselves from relegation last season.

They are managed by former Wimbledon midfielder Wally Downes, who successfully turned their form around last season to lift them out of the drop zone.

One familiar face for Robins fans will be Dons midfielder Scott Wagstaff, who became a firm hit with the Ashton Gate faithful after helping them to promotion in 2015.

Ticket details are yet to be announced.
