Bristol City and Celtic handed £350k boost over free-scoring striker

Bristol City and Celtic could be handed a boost in their attempts to sign Andraz Sporar.

The Slovan Bratislava striker has been in terrific form so far this season and has been scouted by the Robins, but they face competition from Celtic and Dynamo Kiev should they want to sign him.

Bratislava have so far held firm in their attempts to keep the player - at one point saying they would not sell for anything less than £6m - but fresh rumours have offered a hint that they may be willing to let Sporar leave.

Ekipa.svet24.si report that the club are preparing for life after Sporar by making a £350k move for striker Alen Ozbolt.

It could well mean that Slovan have softened their stance on keeping Sporar, who has hit 20 goals in 25 matches this season.

Bristol City have scouted the 25-year-old, who has previously had stints at Basel and Olimpija Ljubjana, as they seek to add to their attack this month.

Yet it is Celtic who currently have the most interest in Sporar's services, with manager Neil Lennon confirming the Hoops were keeping tabs on him.

However, Lennon denied that the club had made a bid for Sporar.
