1. Wayne Couzens jailed for whole of his life for murder of Sarah Everard

Former Metropolitan Police Officer Wayne Couzens has been jailed for the whole of his life for the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard.

Wayne Couzens, 48, was a serving Pc with the Metropolitan Police when he snatched Ms Everard as she walked home in Clapham, south London, on the evening of March 3 - falsely arresting her for Covid breaches.

The sexual predator, who had clocked off from a 12-hour shift that morning, went on to rape and strangle the 33-year-old marketing executive. Couzens, used his handcuffs and warrant card to snatch Ms Everard as she walked home from visiting a friend in Clapham, south London, on the evening of March 3.

2. Man arrested on suspicion of murder after woman found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in a Portishead cul-de-sac.

It was reported by residents that emergency services had been at the scene in Paper Mill Gardens since around 10pm yesterday evening (September 29).

They said that when they awoke a police cordon had been set up and police remained on scene.

3. Greggs to open new Bristol branch inside Asda Bedminster

Bristol fans of Greggs sausage rolls, steak bakes and vanilla slices are in for a real treat next week.

The high street bakery giant has announced it is opening a brand new shop in the Bedminster branch of Asda.

It’s the latest Bristol opening for Greggs, which already has several shops and cafes in the city.

5.We Buy Any Car refuse to buy my car, says disgruntled driver

A man who agreed a deal to sell his vehicle to We Buy Any Car has been left out of pocket after the company unexpectedly cancelled the transaction.

Pandi Qerreti, from Hull, sold his Mercedez Benz to We Buy Any Car's Chamberlain Road store on September 16 for £33,097.25, and was told he would receive payment by 8pm the next day.

However, on the morning of September 17 Mr Qerreti was frustrated to receive notification by phone and email that he must "immediately pick up the car" as the purchase had been cancelled, despite a signed invoice having been issued.

6. Covid Back new sign to watch for as two-thirds of under 30s have problem

Two thirds of young adults have been hit by 'Covid Back' after spending too many hours sitting around during the pandemic, new research reveals.

Though usually associated with older adults, the past 18 months have led to 64 per cent of 18-29-year-olds reporting back problems.

Causes include longer periods working from home, playing video games and even being hunched over while cooking as lockdown meant fewer meals out.
