Bristol Bears' trip away to Saracens in March is set to be a spectacular occasion as the three-time Heineken Champions Cup winners will host the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Saracens have confirmed plans to host the Round 21 Gallagher Premiership game at the state of the art 62,850 seater Premier League football stadium which is also used to host London's NFL games.
The stadium, which was only completed in 2019, will also host the 2022/23 European Heineken Champions Cup final and is considered one of the best new grounds in Europe.
The game on the weekend of March 26 is being marketed as ‘The Showdown – Part 2’ and has been organised following the cancellation of a similar sold-out event against Harlequins during the 2019/20 season.
The event fell foul of the Covid-19 pandemic with the UK Government announcing a nationwide lockdown just days before the game was due to played.
Round 21 of the 2021/22 Premiership season is the first weekend after the conclusion of the 2022 Guinness Six Nations meaning Saracens and Bristol Bears should both be able to field full-strength sides.
Despite a number of departures, Saracens still currently have five players away with the British and Irish Lions in Maro Itoje, Jamie George, Owen Farrell, Elliott Daly and Mako Vunipola, all of whom stayed at the North London club despite their relegation to the Greene King IPA Championship for the 2020/21 season as punishment for historic salary cap breaches.
England stars Max Malins and Ben Earl, who spent the season on loan at Bristol, have also returned to Saracens and will likely be among their ranks when the two sides take the field against each other.
The Bears host the five-time Premiership champions at Ashton Gate in the opening game of the league season on September 17 in what is likely to be a sell out game.
Ticket information for the game has not been released yet.
