Bristol Bears confirm 2021/22 retained list and positional swap for young forward

Bristol Bears have officially confirmed a squad of 45 players who will compete for the club in the 2021/22 season.

The Bears also confirmed the departures of six players, five of whom had already been announced.

Tongan legend and long-term Bears’ servant, Siale Piutau will depart at the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign, after five seasons at the club.

Loanees Ben Earl and Max Malins will return to parent club Saracens.

Prop Peter McCabe also departs, alongside scrum-half Tom Kessell (Cornish Pirates) and Argentinian international Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro will join Italian side Benetton.

Meanwhile, triallist scrum-half Stephen Kerins (Ealing Trailfinders) and hooker Tagdh McElroy are set to depart in the summer.

Bristol Live have also been told talented young frontrower George Kloska is currently in the process of changing positions from hooker to loosehead prop under the guidance of the club's coaching staff.
