Bristol-based ethical vegan wine seller Billings & Briggs goes into liquidation

A Bristol-based organic, vegan wine seller and importer has gone into liquidation.

Billings & Briggs is being voluntarily wound up, according to public records site The Gazette.

Joint liquidators Simon Robert Haskew and Neil Frank Vinnicomb, who work for corporate recovery firm Begbies Traynor in Bristol, have been appointed to oversee the winding up of the business.

Billings & Briggs was founded in 2015 and sourced its products from small, family producers, according to Business Live.

The company's directors are named as Daniel Briggs and Louise Marks on Companies House, and the business is registered to Upper York Street in Bristol.

"The Company [is being] wound up voluntarily," Mr Briggs said in a statement on The Gazette.

“[Mr Haskew and Mr Vinnicombe are] hereby appointed as joint liquidators for the purposes of such winding up and that any power conferred on them by law or by this resolution, may be exercised and any act required or authorised under any enactment to be done by them, may be done by them jointly or by each of them alone."

Many of the wines the company sold were vegan and fermented with wild yeasts, according to the company's Facebook page.

The company is described on Twitter as "an importer of wines born of sustainable farming and clean production methods".

Anyone who is affected by the liquidation is being encouraged to contact the joint liquidators by telephone on 0117 937 7130.
