Avon & Somerset Police were called to an address in Bristol this morning after an assault.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to hospital with 'serious injuries' a spokesperson for the police has said.
The attack happened around 2am today at an address on Taylor Gardens in Withywood near Bishopsworth, Bristol.
A full statement from the police is below:
“We were called to Taylor Gardens, in Withywood, Bristol, at around 2am today (Saturday, September 10) following reports of an assault.
“The victim has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
